Leigh’s journey started at a young age in Plymouth, England. In 2006 he started as a trainee and progressed through his apprenticeship a few years later.
He spent the early years of his career heavily focused on developing his craft with every chance. Focusing on the technique and detail of hair, he had great teachers and mentors from day one. The two brothers who mentored him were both NHF British Hairdressing Team alumni.
Naturally this catapulted him into the competition scene. He loved the whole experience and had great success, eventually becoming the NHF South West of England Senior Champion in 2011.
Fast forward a few months, Leigh made the bittersweet decision to whisk myself off to the sunny shores of Australia with the motivation to make this country his primary residence. Leigh is now proud to be an Australian Citizen.
Area Studio has been Leigh’s home since 2017. A gift that just keeps on giving. AREA Studio has helped him channel energy and enthusiasm into the creative process, developing as a human and learning what it means to be a great contributor to a team and to this industry. As a team AREA Studio HBIA Small Salon of the Year in 2017 and 2018.
